We Ethically Source and Recycle

Our products are on a journey towards sustainability. Our Picnic Rugs / Woven Throws and Cushion Covers are made from 100% recycled cotton. Our commitment to environmental sustainability has never been more important than now as the unprecedented environmental pressures continue to take a toll on our natural resources. As our business grows, we will continuously improve our processes and review our materials to ensure that we are minimising our carbon footprint and doing our part in building a more sustainable future.

Picnic Mantra’s mission is to be environmentally conscious. It’s important that our products are ethically sourced from materials that are sustainable. This means that every item is made from recycled materials which can also be recycled again to avoid contributing to landfill.

Supplier Partners, Materials and Packaging

Right from the beginning, we have made it our utmost priority to use 100% quality cotton or textiles made from recycled materials from pre-consumer waste that would otherwise found its way into landfill or our oceans. We don’t use cotton blends or virgin materials in order to lower our production costs.

Our Cushion Filling Insert have received Global Recycle Standard (GRS) Certification and is made from recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPet) fibre which is made from plastic water bottles from post-consumer waste. Approximately 26 grams of rPet fibre is the equivalent to 1 plastic bottle. For example, our Floor Cushion consists of 1500 grams of rPet fibre. By choosing to purchase Picnic Mantra’s Floor Cushion, you have just saved 71 plastic bottles from entering landfill or our oceans. How great is that?!

Our supplier partners have been carefully considered. We have ensured they are able to demonstrate fair trade qualifications, which means that they comply with economical, social and environment standards.

We have worked tirelessly with our suppliers to ensure that our shipment of products to Australia arrive in recycled carton boxes and packaging. Our Picnic Rugs / Woven Throws are beautifully wrapped in recycled herringbone cotton ribbon, recycled paper card hang tags and thank you notes. Our Cushion Filling Insert arrive to you in a recycled vacuum sealed bag.  When you place your order, it will arrive to your doorstep in a biodegradable mailing bag.

We are proud partners with Sendle, Australia’s first carbon-neutral delivery service. This means for every parcel we send, we’ll offset the carbon emissions and invest in positive environmental causes.
